Before training as a counsellor, Greg worked in trades and then spent ten years teaching, much of it with adult learners in Canada and abroad. As a teacher, he began to see how mental health challenges were affecting his students and limiting their potential. Over time, the limits of the classroom left him longing for a more direct way of helping people, and that search eventually brought him to counselling.
Greg brings an approach that is real, warm, and non-judgmental. He works with individuals, couples, and families, and welcomes clients from all backgrounds. His varied life experience and work with diverse cultures inform a practice that feels grounded and approachable. He is beginning training in Somatic Experiencing and draws from Internal Family Systems, mindfulness, narrative therapy, and CBT.
Greg feels that therapy should meet people where they are. Therapy does not have to start with something big; it can be as simple as showing up to talk about what is on your mind. And if the words are not there—or if the story feels too hard to tell—just start by noticing what is happening physically: an emotion or some tension can provide a solid place to begin.
Outside of counselling, he enjoys working around his house, time with friends, gardening, reading, or just watching a movie.
